Description

Mollichaff Calmer is a complete fibre based feed designed for horses and ponies that are prone to excitability or nervousness. It combines good quality fibre sources with magnesium, camomile, lemon balm, mint and a broad spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement. These key ingredients have been selected for their provision of nutritional support to the horse’s nervous and digestive systems. Mollichaff Calmer contains a carefully formulated combination of magnesium, camomile, lemon balm and mint. These ingredients are all known to aid in the reduction of nervousness and excitability in horses and ponies. Mollichaff Calmer is low in sugar and starch, providing limited, controlled energy from high quality digestible fibre and oil-based ingredients. Mollichaff Calmer is a highly palatable mix containing a balanced blend of fibre pellets, oat straw, dried grass and soya oil, along with a broad spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement. This means that Mollichaff Calmer can be used as the sole “bucket feed”. When fed at the recommended levels to horses in maintenance or light work, Mollichaff Calmer needs no further supplementation other than good quality forage. Alternatively, Mollichaff Calmer can be added or used to replace a proportion of an existing feed. In addition, Mollichaff Calmer contains added limestone to provide calcium for strong bones and healthy growth. Mollichaff Calmer contains elevated levels of magnesium derived from several bio-available sources. This is important for all horses as magnesium is often deficient in UK soil, but is of significant importance to “fizzy” horses. Magnesium levels are an important factor in the nutritional support of metabolic processes in the horse, including regulating the nerve fibres which control the central nervous system. A diet deficient in magnesium can result in increased muscle contraction, making the horse less able to relax and more likely to become excitable
